Summer is finally here, but is your home ready? I know you are keeping up on your home with our awesome cleaning tips, but sometimes you need to clean those areas that don’t get much attention.
We usually don’t notice, until it is time to use those areas, but now that summer is here we tend to spend a little more time outside. So, here are a few things you can do to get your home ready for those summer cookouts!
Clean Out That Garage
If you are anything like us, I am sure your garage gets filled with unnecessary clutter. I don’t even know where the stuff comes from half the time, but it leaves the garage a mess and makes it hard to find things when we actually need them. (Especially if you have kids that like to move everything around!) That is why we always do a “garage clean out” at the beginning of each summer. It’s kind of a “reset” for the year. We move everything out, power wash the floor, and put everything back all nice and organized!
I know, this doesn’t seem like the biggest task or the biggest deal because you aren’t usually hanging out in your garage, but it will definitely make you feel organized. (more organized at least!)
Clean the Deck/Back Patio
As many of you know, the back patio can typically get a little bit “grimy” and “buggy”. This makes it less desirable to hang out back there. So, get back there and get it ready for barbecues!
We typically like to remove all the furniture, sweep the floor, get rid of the cobwebs, wipe the furniture down, and put everything back in its respective place! It sounds simple (and it is) but this will help you spend more time on your deck/patio.
Clean the Windows
Alright, nobody likes cleaning the windows, but it really makes a difference. Plus, there are probably some dead bugs in those window sills if you haven’t had the opportunity to get around to cleaning your windows since last year!
You can simply remove your screens, wipe the screens, wipe the sills, clean the windows and BAM you are done! Now, there are plenty of products you can use to get your windows clean, but we have found that Rain X is the best product to avoid any streaking.
