It’s always a good idea to clean your garage at least once a year to keep everything clean and free of critters. We have a few tips that will help you with your yearly (monthly, 6-month….or 2-year) cleaning.
How do I Start Cleaning a Garage?
Let’s be honest, the hardest part is probably starting! You also have to accept the fact that you are going to have to take EVERYTHING out of the garage. So, just get out there and take everything out of the garage. (this is always a good job for the kids if you have them!)
Alright, now that everything is removed from the garage we can do a little cleaning. Here is a list of supplies we will need to clean the garage:
- Broom
- Mop/Bucket
- Soap/Water
- Large Scrub brush
Most of you probably have these items laying around, but if not, all of these items can be bought for under $50 at Walmart.
Anyways, after you have all your supplies you can get to work. While cleaning anything, it is always a good idea to clean from top to bottom. This is always good because you don’t want to clean the floor and then wipe stuff back on the floor. So, start with “high dusting”. The best way to do this is with your clean mop. Go ahead and knock down all the cobwebs.
After all the cobwebs are gone we can grab the broom and sweep out the garage. Make sure to start in the back of the garage and sweep everything out. We want that garage nice and clean.
Once we get all the dirt out of the garage, we can take a look at the floor. Look for any areas that might need a little scrubbing or areas that are stained. Then take your bucket of water and your scrub brush and see what you can get out. 🙂
